Order’s up! Caliche’s Wishbone in Jacó Beach serves more than just great food; it brings to the table everything that this laid-back surf town stands for. From the moment you walk up you can feel the heartbeat of the restaurant. It runs on pure surfer soul, and is one of the most popular places to grab a meal after a long day of surfing.
Perhaps one of the best things about Caliche’s Wishbone, besides the fact that it is still r
un by Caliche and his wife Kristen, is the insane amount of variety they offer. The menu has everything from spaghetti to tacos, featuring a more varied flavor than traditional Costa Rican cuisine, although there are few things, such as the house beans, that are made in standard Costa Rican style. Everything is all natural, and reasonably priced; dishes average around 5-10 dollars, and the portions are huge!
Caliche, born Carlos Alfaro, is constantly refining the way he cooks things, thanks largely in part to his travels. He is also always open to new menu ideas, so why not head down to the main road in Jacó beach and tell him what you think. Or you can email wishbonejaco@yahoo.com.
