What started as a small bed and breakfast has transformed into one of the top luxury boutique hotels in San Jose. Hotel Casa Roland is a labor of love that has built up a reputation of quality service to locals and foreigners alike. The hotel is exquisitely decorated; Hotel Casa Roland has actually earned national recognition for its extensive collection of art.
The Hotel is located in the embassy district, just 5 minutes from the from the Tobias Bolanos domestic airport and 30 minutes from San Jose’s international airport.
A Deluxe room has a queen size bed, a ceiling fan, AC, a security box, and a mini fridge. The executive suite includes all the same, but in addition has a small office set up for completely work. The real jewel is the Robert and Roland Suites, which are basically separate apartments. They have 3 bedrooms each with a queen bed, full bath, AC and fans, a living room, dining room and fully stocked kitchen, a washing machine and a Jacuzzi. Room rates are the same year round; a single deluxe will cost you US $95, a double deluxe is US $110, an executive room is Us $130 and the Robert or Roland Suite is US $230. (All rates are based on double occupancy and do not include tax.)
Breakfast, however, is included, and we aren’t talking your typical continental breakfast with bagels and OJ and bananas. Breakfast is served from 7 am to 10 am and includes any combination of eggs, bacon, hash browns, potatoes O’Brian, toast, waffles, and Costa Rica’s gallo pinto (rice and beans).
The hotel owns a restaurant across the street, although not much else is within walking distance. The Lobby has a full bar, high-speed internet and computers with laser printers at your disposal 24 hours a day.
