For those who are considering packing up their belongings and making the big move to Costa Rica, I suggest taking a visit to the ARCR Forums. They are are free service provided by The Association of Residents of Costa Rica (ARCR) and contain posts and discussions on basically anything a Gringo trying to decide to move to Costa Rica needs to know.
Main forum categories include Living or Retiring in Costa Rica, Residency and Citizenship in Costa Rica – Laws and Current Policy, Moving to Costa Rica, Travel in Costa Rica, Real Estate in Costa Rica, Communications, Technology and the Internet in Costa Rica, the Costa Rica Business Forum – Doing Business in Costa Rica, and more.
The ARCR does a fantastic job of keeping the information current, and many knowledgeable people are a part of these forums, ensuring the information is accurate, and helpful, and that all your questions get answered as best they can. To have access to anything beyond the Welcome forum you must register, but registration is free.
Take a minute to read through the ARCR home page, and then visit the forums. Register and you will be one step closer to seriously educating yourself on what making the move to Costa Rica really involves.
The ARCR provides information on living in and moving to Costa Rica, assistance with insurance in Costa Rica, information about the immigration process, social activities for ARCR members, and a discount program for members at many different locations throughout Costa Rica.
Of course, the Gringo will continue to gather information for you from personal experiences, and the experiences of others who have also made the move.
