A Visit to Tabacon Grand

One big reason people love to visit Costa Rica is to go to hot springs. You can find a wide variety of locations for hot springs and pricing. Entries to enjoy hot springs can run anywhere from six dollars to sixty dollars depending on what kind of experience you are looking for. In my opinion Tabacon Grand Tabacon hot springsSpa offers some of the best hot springs in all of Costa Rica. People from all over the country come to Tabacon to enjoy the lush beauty of their gardens and relaxing affects of the natural hot springs.

When you first arrive to Tabacon you will have a decision to make. You can purchase just an entry to the hot springs which allows you to enjoy the hot springs the entire day. This mean that you are welcome to leave and come back when and as often as you would like. Normally this kind of entry ticket costs around sixty dollars per person. You can also choose to have an entire day-pass with lunch or dinner included. The lunch is ordered off a special menu for day-pass guests while dinner is offered buffet style every night. This kind of pass generally runs around eighty five dollars but for only an extra ten dollars you can receive both lunch and dinner.

When I first arrived I thought that I would only spend a few hours at the springs, but I still decided to buy the day-pass with both lunch and dinner since it would cost less than if I left the Spa to eat. When I finally entered the spa I felt as if I had walked right into paradise. Tabacon had a wide variety of hot spring pools from cold pools the average temperature being around eighty degrees Fahrenheit to hot pools that average around one hundred and Waterslide at tabacon costa ricaseven degrees Fahrenheit. You can enjoy sitting in a pool with a water slide or just relaxing underneath a warm water fall.

One word of caution: the grounds are not really designed for handicapped or those who have trouble walking.

After both lunch and dinner rolled around I felt completely satisfied that the food was well worth the expense. For lunch I was offered a typical Costa Rican lunch which consisted of fish, rice, an egg and sweet plantains. At dinner the buffet offered a wide variety of food and desserts. I found myself going back to the buffet over and over and over again, which definitely added to its value!

The best part though of the meal is after you eat you can go back in to the hot springs. The bathrooms are very clean and beautifully designed. The showers all have frosted glass doors. Another word of warning: this can prove troublesome for those who have problems with balance. When I was there a gentlemen that had balance problems fell through the glass door and cut his foot. Despite all this after seeing a doctor I saw him again right back at the hot springs enjoying himself.

Tabacon is well worth each and every dollar that I spent there. Though drinks were not included in the cost of the day passes I still found myself wishing the day wasn’t over. I didn’t want to leave since it was one of the most relaxing experiences I had ever had. Though I didn’t get a chance to take advantage of their other services the entire day was worth well over a hundred dollars. I am just so glad to see that the price of paradise is still affordable.
